Misha Amory

Winner of the 1991 Naumberg Viola Award, Misha Amory is an active soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. He has performed with orchestras in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and at numerous music festivals.

Amory performs regularly at the Yale School of Music and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival/Yale Summer School of Music as a member of YSM’s ensemble-in-residence, the Brentano String Quartet, which presents creative programs of works from across history and standards of the classical canon. He also coaches graduate-level chamber music ensembles.

Amory holds degrees from Yale College and The Juilliard School, where his principal teachers were Heidi Castleman, Caroline Levine, and Samuel Rhodes. A dedicated teacher himself, Amory also serves on the faculties of The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music.
