Mark Steinberg
Mark Steinberg is an active chamber musician and recitalist who performs with orchestras and at chamber music festivals throughout the United States and Europe. An advocate of contemporary and early music, Steinberg has worked closely with many composers and has performed and recorded with 20th-century music ensembles and on period instruments with early music ensembles.
Steinberg performs regularly at the Yale School of Music as a member of the School of Music’s ensemble-in-residence, the Brentano String Quartet, which presents creative programs of works from across history and standards of the classical canon. He also coaches graduate-level chamber music ensembles. In the summers, Steinberg performs and teaches at Norfolk Chamber Music Festival/Yale Summer School of Music.
Steinberg holds degrees from Indiana University and The Juilliard School and has studied with Louise Behrend, Josef Gingold, and Robert Mann. Previously, he taught at the Mannes School of Music, Juilliard’s Pre-College Division, Princeton University, and New York University.
